What’s Composite

COMPOSITE
The immiscible two or more solid compositions, and solid materials formed by “composite material" is called. Most of the material in the nature of “composite" material consists of so-called composite structures. characterized in that the mixture is far superior to the properties of its constituent material

The most typical example is now beginning to tradition and today “fiberglass" are supplemented with materials produced by the known polyester-based resin fiber glass. However, in today advanced composites have superior physical group, the fibers used have chemical and mechanical properties. These materials have a high elastic and high toughness.

To be easily administered, to be compared to low density metals are the most important features of the superior surface quality and corrosion resistance against rise. Many have superior properties as well as low hardness and durability characteristics are caused to be made to strengthen the work of plastic materials. Composites, especially polymer composites with high strength, dimensional and thermal stability, hardness, they offer many advantages with features such as durability against wear. Also, the composite materials are much lighter as well as being able to compete with metals in terms of strength and rigidity. There are three main components of composite materials.

Matrix of the thermosetting or thermoplastic polymer material forms the continuous phase. Thermoset polyesters are used mainly in the group. As well as vinyl acetate / bisphenol A, the use of epoxy resins and phenolic resins are also becoming increasingly common. We see the widespread use of thermoplastic polyamide and polypropylene group, as well as a hybrid form of polyethylene and polybutylene terephthalate, polyetheretherketone and polyethersulfone use is remarkable.

Reinforcement: Aramid, carbon, graphite, boron, silicon carbide, alumina, glass and polyethylene materials are used in the form of short or long continuous fibers and matrix are materials which function reinforcement volume ratio of about 60%.

Additives: Fillers, according to their chemical nature and other additives are added in order to improve properties. composite materials in this group space, defense, building and construction, consumer goods, in applications requiring corrosion resistance, electrical and electronics, marine, are used in applications and special purpose vehicles. increasing applications particularly in the automotive industry and shows a growth rate approaching 6%.

FIBERGLASS
Silica glass fibers, colemanite, alumina is produced from glass material such as soda production. Glass fiber, most known is the one used in fiber reinforced composites.

Glass fibers are produced by specially designed and propelling the molten glass through a special furnace where the small hole in the bottom. Once these fine fibers are used as raw materials cooled composite wound into reels. Especially with glass fiber to increase the adhesion between matrix “silane" and its use of chemical-based thin film forming on the fiber is increased. The fibers are extremely strong, despite losing 50% of its strength in the process. fiber glass still has a higher durability of aramid and carbon fibers. Fiber fabrics are generally produced with fibers of the continuous glass fibers. The addition of various chemicals in the process and different types of glass fiber with some special production methods can be produced. CTP, by reinforcement with glass fiber is a composite material consisting of increased physical strength values of the unsaturated polyester. GRP wood, concrete, metal, glass, etc, is a production of materials such as, can easily acquire different characteristics appropriate to the intended use of the property indicates the superiority compared to other production materials. CTP “Glass fiber reinforced plastics composed of the first letters of the word, is a Turkish acronym.

Glass fiber reinforced plastic (FRP) is a composite material obtained by combining a carrier matrix resin with glass fibers. Glass fiber reinforced plastic, environment-resistant, flexible but not having sufficient mechanical strength, high mechanical strength with a plastic obtained by combining the high-quality glass fiber composite engineering materials. Glass fiber is a material having high mechanical strength. mechanical strength of the glass fibers is formed a perfect material on the flexibility of plastic.

CTP What are the advantages?
The most important factor in the choice of FRP materials are characteristic of the material.
• High specific strength, excellent flexibility, light weight, high corrosion resistance, high temperature resistance, excellent dielectric characteristics, superior dimensional stability (Composite Manhole Cover Composite Rainwater Grill, Composite Bank)
• molding flexibility, high chemical resistance, ability to self-colored opportunity
• Ensuring the fire resistance and fire retardant additives (composite trash cans)
• When prompted to provide light transmission feature (Composite Roadside Pillar)

GRP, suitable glass fiber and polyester resin to be made on the product can be easily shaped and molded by suitable production method to be used can be combined. GRP, urban and roadside planting in the suburban roads, traffic signs, light curtains are used as overhead panels and sound insulating walls to prevent noise pollution by placing the edges in particular through the city motorway. In addition, municipal and industrial areas with urban services, where there are numerous applications for CTP. Water transport, pipes used in sewer lines, garbage bins used in urban and park benches, camellias, bus stops, kiosks, bridge railings, stairs and railings used in waste water treatment, port, disaster shelters, housing, walkways in corrosive environments, stadium seats, children’s playgrounds and parks, children’s playgrounds, are among the accessories used in beaches and resorts.

GRP and other composite combinations are preferred plus in use today and are surely reasons for strength and lightness. Various ceramics, plastics, polymers, fibers, reinforced by rigid metal sometimes highly possible to produce materials that provides benefits. Contents can be easily way thanks to plastic and reinforcing fibers with ultra-strong, rigid and lightweight composites, which are encountered in new applications every day. It also provides advantages in terms of being lightweight and corrosion-resistant properties compared to metals. (Composite Manhole Covers, Rainwater Gratings, benches, trash cans)

High Strength: The tensile and bending strength of composites is much higher than many metallic materials. In addition, due to its molding properties, the required strength can be given to the composites in the desired direction and region. Composites are one of the most effective materials that provide high strength values. Thus, by saving material, lighter and cheaper products are obtained. At the beginning of these products are composite manhole covers, rainwater grating sets, benches, garbage cans, tree grates.

Resistance to Corrosion and Chemical Effects: Composites are not damaged by weather effects, corrosion and most chemical effects. Due to these properties, composite materials are safely used in the construction of chemical tanks, pipes, boats and other marine vehicles. In particular, its resistance to corrosion provides advantages in many areas in the industry.

Heat and Fire Resistance: The heat resistance feature of composites, which can consist of materials with low heat transmission coefficient, allows them to be used under high temperatures. The flame resistance of composites depends on the properties of the polyester used. “Fire resistant" polyester should be used where flame resistance is required. The outstanding electrical insulation properties of the composites are a clear reason for preference for the production of many components. Some special additives can increase the heat resistance of the composites.

Permanent Coloring: The desired color can be given to the composite material thanks to the pigments added to the resin during molding. This process does not require any additional expense and labor.

Printing: During molding on the composite material, text and shape printing can be made on the product in desired dimensions. Composite products eliminate the assembly and subsequent assembly of many parts encountered in conventional materials such as steel, with the possibility of molding in one piece.
